The way I see it, you will constantly be learning and growing as a Farmer in the Plough Department. The best advice that I can give to a new farmer is to take advice from the veterans.
What do you study in the agricultural field?
Agriculture is a growing sector in China. In the 1980s and 90s, the mainstay of agriculture was rice and corn. Since then, the agricultural sector has become more diverse with the rise of high-yield and high-value crops such as tobacco, sugarcane, and rubber. You can choose to specialize in a certain area of agriculture or go with a generalist approach and learn how to do it all.
So, what’s next after you’ve made it as a farmer?
If you are interested in staying in agriculture, you can either continue to work in the same field or move on to a new challenge. If you are looking to start your career in another field, you can always move back to agriculture and take up where you left off. First, you will have to get yourself a job.
